Katherine Quamina is passionate about helping people within her community. While studying abroad in Northern Spain, she became a certified Red Cross volunteer, working with patients and their families in a local Spanish hospital. Katherine sees herself in nonprofit management where she can advocate for her community, as well as the environment.
She is always ready to accept a challenge, whether that means immersing herself in a non-English speaking environment or navigating off-trail in the wilderness. Her combination of love for her natural surroundings and her community give her a fresh and unique perspective.
Katherine, a student of Public Relations and Environmental Studies at the University of Oregon, is a firm believer in empowerment through education. She has taught children of different ages and economic backgrounds. Katherine has tutored less-privileged elementary students and has worked with English as second language students.
Katherine believes in improving communities through public awareness and environmental justice. In the future, she hopes to work in nonprofit, small business or international public relations.
